Ever meet a highly motivated positive friendly person that you like the moment you meet? That's the way I feel about Robyn - the owner/leading lady at handmade. la conner. I've been a long time vendor at a large bi-annual craft show in Seattle, one year Robyn happened to be placed right next to me. It was her first time vending at that show - which is like running a marathon for 48+ hours straight. I was impressed not only by her well made home goods/personal care items but her display was impressive. She is hard worker and all around great lady.

Like a handful of other artist's I've watched flourish in the maker's movement, it's been great to see Robyn grow from a 10' x 10' booth set up into the great waterfront store that she has now in La Conner, Washington.

Speaking of her store, she's recently expanded at her current location and will be hosting a Grand Re-Opening Weekend starting September 2nd!

Happy weekend friends! We ended up without power Tuesday through early morning Thursday. We live in a some what rural area with lots of trees that can topple over. There was a big one that came down on our main road and knocked out a few lines. We're used to that sort of thing here and anticipate it. We have an amazing wood burning stove that kicks out so much heat that we were walking around in t-shirts.

Here are two of our brood napping in front of the fire. They came home peeled off some wet socks (left the towels and wet socks on the floor as you can see) and passed out.

We've been playing catch up since. We only had one delayed order to a fellow local maker (Hapertas & Co.) who was also sitting in her home without power.

I created this design a while back without a project in mind. Hapertas & Co. contacted me wanting a fresh option for stylish lapel pins for her line. A perfect marriage happened! I know this is an unusual day for me to post. I try to keep our posts to Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. But you know how the rollercoaster of life goes. You just jump on where you can. I hope everyone stays warm out there!
