Custom Company Sign - Pics for Promises

We recently had the great pleasure of creating a custom two layered wood sign for Pics for Promises.

A little bit about Pics for Promises (an excerpt from their site):

Pics for promises is a whimsical love-themed photography project built around the idea of giving back. We are a husband and wife team fortunate enough to have a healthy family with a safe place to live, food to eat, clean water to drink, and access to doctors. We realize this is not the case for everyone, so we are using our creativity to provide a small bit of help to those less fortunate.

Opening this website allows us to expand our reach, giving people the opportunity to purchase heart pics, and in turn give back to the community. Not only are we donating 25% of all profits from online sales to charity, we are using additional profits to fund the Street Hearts portion of our project, from which 100% of proceeds go directly to a charity of the donor's choice. Pics For Promises will also be working with local charities to sponsor events and help raise much needed funds.

We thought it was an absolutely adorable project they've undertaken and were more than happy to create this custom sign for them.

This sign is two layers and a total of three colors. It measures 18" in diameter and 0.5" thick. Being two layers, it was one of the more uncommon sign requests we've had. Most love the minimal simplistic look of natural engraved wood. Which is absolutely lovely. But this style of layered sign gives a look of depth and splash of color that we love and find aesthetically pleasing.

We carefully placed each inner cutout piece within the wording by hand (with assistance of tweezers) and securely glued it down.

It turned out absolutely lovely and Pics for Promises posted a super cute photo of the sign being held on their Instagram account.

Chihuly Garden and Glass 4th Anniversary

We had the pleasure of being invited to the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum's 4th Anniversary this past Saturday. We were invited to have breakfast in the Glass House and enjoy the museum before doors opened to the public.

Although, we've been manufacturing keychains for the Chihuly Gift Shop for some time now, we hadn't had the opportunity to visit the museum. With the privilege of being in the museum prior to the doors opening to the public John and I had a unique experience.

It was absolutely incredible! The colors alone was enough to make this bold color loving girl's heart pounce out of my chest. The skill and craftsmanship is truly amazing to see. As maker's we have a critical eye and mind of wonderment when viewing art. "How did they assemble this all?" "How do they keep this so darn clean?" "Look at these vibrant colors!"

The opportunity to be in there before public hours was such a treat. We were like two kids wandering around in a colorful wonderland. Admiring Chihuly's color palette of his work really made us appreciate the careful color selection that goes into his accessory products. Like the key chains we manufacture for the shop. Also visually connecting with his inspiration from the Northwest, conservatories and gardens was really inspiring. John and I personally connect to that both being from the northwest and avid home gardeners.

I know we've inspired our friends over the weekend with our very colorful social media posts from our experience there to go check it out. I hope we do the same here for anyone who keeps us with here and plans to visit the Seattle Center sometime soon.

The Marine Mammal Center - Sausalito, California

Last summer we vended at a show in San Francisco. We had the opportunity to not only vend to Californians in person (which was amazing!) but happen to meet a few buyers down there too. We had the great pleasure of being contacted by The Marine Mammal Center!

I love the ocean - reclaimed wood keychain for The Marine Mammal Center

They expressed interest in our reclaimed wood keychains and hoped we could make company branded products for them. We happily accepted!!! I (Thea) grew up on an island in Puget Sound surrounded by sea life, including sea mammals so I had a personal vested interest in this project.

They had simple requests and were fantastic people to work with! Laser cut and engraved reclaimed wood keychains and magnets. Great souvenirs for a place that is now on my list of things to do next time we are in California.

Demo Sign - The Lettermate

A few months ago Kimberly from The Lettermate contacted us hoping we'd do a small project for her company. Some simple trade show signage. It was a simple job and the end result looked great!

We actually had the opportunity to meet Kimberly in San Francisco at the Renegade Craft Fair at Fort Mason. She was so super nice and her show display looked awesome. (I unfortunately do not have those photos handy at the moment.)

We were totally thrilled that she hit us up again for a large scale version (15" x 12") of her product for teaching purposes in her instructional classes! Oh, in case you're wondering what exactly The Lettermate is, its an awesome hand lettering tool for addressing snail mail envelopes. We will be picking up a couple for our own wedding next year. A few of you fellow Pinterest junkies might have seen The Grommet sharing info about The Lettermate.

We love projects like this! It doesn't hurt that the lady behind The Lettermate is pretty stellar too!

Mom and Pop workshop

John and I spent our weekend putting together a rush order. Laser engraving and tying hundreds of tags for a PR company that represents a liquor company. They are the tags that are placed around the neck of the bottles.

The logo is amazing and the tags turned out awesome. The tags are engraved on both sides and we hand tied each tag so they are ready for use. For jobs like this John and I are like an assembly line and we crank stuff out.

While we love creating our own original designs but doing corporate branding jobs are quite fun and fuel our OCD tendencies.
